Club Memberships

New for the 2003 - 2004 season, the AAU Board of Directors voted collectively to divide its Club Program into three separate categories. Each category will provide various levels of benefits that are tailored to the needs of each individual club.

Level 1 ($30.00) is for incorporated and unincorporated clubs who wish to participate in AAU events, vote at the appropriate association meetings and receive a practice sanction. A major change compared to last year is that this club level will not be able to host an AAU sanctioned event. Level 1 Clubs may not use trademarks of the AAU except to say the club is a member of the AAU.

Level 1 provides for AAU sanctioned practice and AAU sanctioned play ONLY!

Level 2 ($60.00) is for incorporated or unincorporated clubs and has the same benefits as Level 1. In addition the Level 2 Club may host an AAU sanctioned event, other than practice, and may use the AAU name and trademarks for sanctioned events only.

Level 2 provides Level 1 benefits plus you can host AAU sanctioned tournaments and use the AAU name and trademarks at the sanctioned events.

Level 3 (300.00) is only for unincorporated clubs and has the same benefits as Level 1 and Level 2. In addition, the Club can become a subordinate under the AAU's Group exemption program, making the entity a tax-exempt organization. Level 3 Clubs are eligible to accept tax-exempt donations directly and provide the contributor with a tax-deductible donation receipt. Level 3 Clubs must register online. Level 3 provides Level 1 and Level 2 benefits plus allows your club to use the AAU's 501(C)3 tax-exempt status. With 501(C)3 status, your club can accept tax-deductable contributions.

Player and Coach AAU Memberships

Each athlete and coach on your team is required to have an Individual AAU Membership. The most efficient means of registering the players and coaches on your club is via the internet using your credit card.

Click to learn more about Individual Membership.

Players may register using the regular membership ($12.00 per player) or the Added Benefit (AB) membership ($14.00 per player). The AB provides a secondary insurance policy. Coaches fees are $14.00 and $16.00 respectively. Click for more information on Added Benefit membership.

Now you're ready to Join. You'll need a Visa, Mastercard, Discover or American Express card.

If you prefer to register by mail, you can register by sending a check to the Betty Quave, Registration Chairwoman. An example of the check amount would be as follows for an AB Membership:

14 Players X $14.00 = $196
2 Coaches X $16.00 = $32
Club Level 1 Registration Fee = $30
TOTAL = $258

Membership cards will then be sent to you for completion of the process. White copies must be returned to the Betty Quave, Registration Chairwoman for membership and insurance to become effective.
